It's a Different World is a four-part discussion series co-sponsored and hosted by Frank J. Ancharski of Club Coach Solutions and Rodney J. Morris of Workplace Culture Workout. Beginning in January, each month will feature a different topic and panelists. Our intention with hosting the series is to rekindle the conversation about diversity, inclusion, and equity within the fitness industry. The time to act is now and the future of our industry depends on the choices we make today.

Frank J. Ancharski, M.S.

Frank’s vast array of experience spans over 30 years including three start-up companies in the club, non-profit & medical fitness side of the industry as a General Manager, Area Director, Vice-President, COO, CEO, and Owner. He is the Founder and Chief Coaching Officer of Club Coach Services, a boutique fitness consulting company. Frank is passionate about creating a little L.I.P. Service, that is Leadership, Inspiration, and People Management. That servant leader mindset is used to formulate actionable and executable initiatives for his clients. He is a volunteer for the IHRSA Headlight Committees for Membership and Facility Standards and was recently tapped as a Chair for REX Roundtables for Executives, an industry think tank for Owners and Suppliers.

Rodney J. Morris

Rodney is a seasoned presenter, educator and SME on employee engagement, training, recruitment, workplace culture, inclusion, and leadership development within the fitness industry. Over the years, Rodney has worked with and alongside the most well-established brands in health & fitness. As an industry veteran with 20 years of experience leading growth and change initiatives, Rodney has a unique and disruptive perspective on the interconnection between organizational culture, the advancement of technology, employee engagement, and the future of the fitness industry.

Keith Vinson

Keith Vinson is a cause-driven senior executive leader that supports a culture of excellence, quality, and diversity. He is a recognized national leader in the Y movement. Locally he has been recognized by the Dallas Business Journal as one of the top minority leaders and Who’s Who in Black Dallas. He co-hosts the Causenetic podcast which seeks to amplify the voice of the Y in the community.

Joe Major

Executive Direction, Upper Valley Aquatic Center

Joe has been in health and wellness club management for over two decades. He currently serves as executive director of the Upper Valley Aquatic Center in Hartford, Vermont. A graduate of Howard University, Joe has managed ten clubs during his career. He has been responsible for such clubs as the Chevy Chase Athletic Club in Maryland, the Downtown Athletic Club in Miami, and West End Executive Club in Washington, D.C. Joe was also the district manager for the Western New York region of World Gym

Tina Carroll

Tina M. Carroll of Carroll Consulting is an industry veteran. An L&D Professional and former GM/Operations Director for over 25 years, Tina is relentlessly focused on employee education and the member experience. She is a skilled presenter and facilitator of topics such as Emotional Intelligence, Managing Unconscious Bias, Coaching Your Team to Win, and HR Topics for Club Managers. A certified SPHR, Senior Professional in Human Resources, she has designed and implemented New Hire Onboarding Trainings and Supervisor Boot Camps both in person and virtually. She has successfully launched and managed Member Survey Programs to positively impact member retention and was featured as a speaker at the Medallia Experience 2017. Her passion is helping others learn and succeed while providing a great member experience. Her client list includes Onelife Fitness, Sport&Health, and World Gym. Tina holds a B.S. in Education from Virginia Tech and – fun fact - was a member of the pilot Disney College Intern Program. She lives in Maryland with her husband Jim and 2 lovely daughters.
